Ecology<\/div>\n

The very basic laws of ecology describing the growth
\n and\n <\/div>\n
regulation of populations of living organisms appear
\n to \ue0c4t\n <\/div>\n
the metaphysical model of the cosmic Quest for
\n Potential\n <\/div>\n
\u221e<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
proposed by David Birnbaum. Obviously<\/span>, ecology is\n <\/div>\n
only one of many sub disciplines within the rather
\n broad\n <\/div>\n
science of biology<\/span>, and
\n biology is only one of many natural\n <\/div>\n
sciences (albeit a very important one).
\n Therefor<\/span>e, this\n <\/div>\n
observation alone does not serve as an immediate
\n and\n <\/div>\n
decisive proof that the Quest is indeed the major
\n driving\n <\/div>\n
force behind each and every natural pr<\/span>ocess.\n <\/div>\n
Nevertheless, it <\/span>is
\n truly <\/span>fascinating that <\/span>an established\n <\/div>\n
scienti\ue0c4c theory <\/span>based
\n on <\/span>experimental evidence <\/span>and<\/span><\/div>\n
mathematic models <\/span>is in
\n <\/span>such a <\/span>strong agr<\/span>eement
\n with\n <\/div>\n
a philosophical <\/span>theory
\n of <\/span>Conceptual Theorist <\/span>Bir<\/span>nbaum,<\/span><\/div>\n
and developed <\/span>independently
\n of <\/span>any formal <\/span>natural history\n <\/div>\n
resear<\/span>ch. This <\/span>is unlikely <\/span>to <\/span>happen by
\n <\/span>chance <\/span>alone.<\/span><\/div>\n
Therefor<\/span>e, it <\/span>is <\/span>reasonable <\/span>to <\/span>propose <\/span>the Quest <\/span>for <\/span>Potential\n <\/div>\n
\u221e<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
as a <\/span>working hypothesis
\n <\/span>for explaining <\/span>the impetus behind\n <\/div>\n
the cosmic <\/span>dynamic.\n <\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
\n
T<\/span>esting <\/span>this hypothesis <\/span>would involve a <\/span>critical r<\/span>eview of\n <\/div>\n
other scienti\ue0c4c <\/span>theories
\n explaining <\/span>particular phenomena <\/span>in<\/span><\/div>\n
chemistry<\/span>, physics,
\n <\/span>sociology<\/span>, etc. for <\/span>their
\n agr<\/span>eement with\n <\/div>\n
Birnbaum\u2019<\/span>s pr<\/span>oposed Overar<\/span>ching <\/span>Theory<\/span>.\n <\/div>\n
Ultimately<\/span>, this <\/span>may yield <\/span>a uni\ue0c4ed view <\/span>of
\n the <\/span>Universe,<\/span> <\/span><\/div>\n
which would <\/span>be a <\/span>major leap <\/span>in ful\ue0c4lling our <\/span>potentiality
\n as\n <\/div>\n
conscious beings.<\/div>\n
