My reaction \u2013 after surveying the incr<\/span>edible giant\n <\/div>\n
T<\/span>ortoises, the exotic
\n \ue0c4er<\/span>ce-looking but harmless\n <\/div>\n
iguana, and the surreal pastel-blue footed
\n seabir<\/span>ds (the\n <\/div>\n
\u2018Blue-footed booby\u2019) \u2013 was that Mr<\/span>. Darwin, for all his\n <\/div>\n
greatness, had missed \u201cthe main event.\u201d<\/div>\n

One does not need Galapagos to discern the core\n <\/div>\n
themes of Natural Selection. One might very well,\n <\/div>\n
however<\/span>, employ Galapagos,
\n to discer<\/span>n Quest for\n <\/div>\n
Potential<\/div>\n

\/Extraordinariation.<\/div>\n
Isolated from the South American mainland, (500
\n miles\n <\/div>\n
west of Ecuador), the sundry Galapagos species had\n <\/div>\n
their own survival\/extraordinariation evolutionary

The threats wer<\/span>e quite
\n different and the r<\/span>esources\/\n <\/div>\n
environment wer<\/span>e quite
\n different. In sum total, it was a\n <\/div>\n
unique, stand-alone environment within-which to
